    This book lists some well known brands and brief introductions about how they came to existence. Then it mentioned 3 characteristics for each of these brands. What the book misses is how these brands are being challenged in current market. Many of these brands original market is shrinking and their value offering models are fast losing significance. The book did not cover this aspect at all.

    Excellent book to understand different brand categories and why they are so successful. It is a different approach to dig into the world of branding according to particular details that makes a brand to stand out from its competitors. The author explains important points of every brand, which illustrate key areas that make a brand a reference benchmark for successful marketing.

    Interesting read. I like the comparison brands to religion. Started reading Matt Haig's other book on brand failures but found too depressing. Learned many new facts about big brands.Only niggles would be Kindle price of book and I would like to see the pictures of ads/products being mentioned.
